HAWREZ ISAMAEL
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Hawler Medical University, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. In 2024, I completed my Master of Engineering in Applied Biotechnology at Warsaw University of Technology. My Master’s thesis focused on mechanochemical and solution-based methods for the cocrystallization of cinchona alkaloids with ibuprofen, aiming to improve the physicochemical properties of pharmaceutical compounds. I later worked in the BioBiomaterials and Biofabrication Laboratory at Adam Mickiewicz University, where I gained experience in biomaterial synthesis, hydrogel development, 3D bioprinting, and tissue engineering. I have also a previous professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical sales representative and team leader.
I joined the SHIELD Doctoral Network in 2026 as a PhD candidate in the R&D Department at Ashland Specialties Ireland Ltd., in collaboration with RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
My PhD project within SHIELD focuses on the development of antimicrobial and bioresorbable polymer coatings for dental implants and hard-tissue applications, aiming to reduce bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation while improving implant integration and long-term clinical performance.
