JUVAIRIA KOTTAPARAMBEL KHALEEL RAHMAN
I am from Kerala, India. I Completed my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Mannaniya College of Arts and Science, Thiruvananthapuram, under the University of Kerala, with complementary studies in Physics and Mathematics.
Subsequently, I pursued a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College under Bharathiar University. The Master’s thesis focused on the corrosion resistance of AZ31 alloy with MXene -Mg/Al-LDH modified with TiO2, a promising material for biomedical implant applications. This work sparked a strong interest in biomaterials and biomedical research.
I have Joined the SHIELD Doctoral Program on 1 April 2026. And I am hosted at the Department of Chemistry, University of Turin (UNITO), Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Paola Rizzi and co-supervision of Prof. Francesco Turci.
My research goal is to develop advanced biocompatible titanium-based amorphous and crystalline alloys, along with the creation of antimicrobial surfaces using Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) and related surface engineering techniques.
