CLARA-MARIA HERMANN
I am originally from Magdeburg, a city in north-eastern Germany. I graduated from dental school in 2019 as a dental surgeon at the University of Göttingen. After my graduation, I spent two years in private practice, where she gained hands-on experience across the entire field of dentistry.
I then returned to the University of Göttingen in 2023 to teach dental students clinical skills and to give lectures. I continued treating patients, but in a more specific context, focusing on prosthodontics and craniomandibular dysfunctions. During that time, I also completed a postgraduate prosthodontic curriculum.
I joined the SHIELD Doctoral Network in March 2026 and is hosted by the industry partner Anthogyr, based in Sallanches, France. I am also connected to the University of Lyon, where her PhD officially takes place.
The aim of my PhD project is to investigate laser-structured dental abutments and their potential to improve soft tissue integration around dental implants.
